Success Story: Cantonal Hospital Glarus and Asecus
With the support of Asecus, the Cantonal Hospital Glarus (KSGL) has significantly strengthened its cybersecurity, especially in the area of Medical IoT (MIoT) security. KSGL, a central provider of medical care in the canton of Glarus with around 100 beds and over 650 employees, faces particular cybersecurity challenges due to its role as a critical infrastructure. Digitalization and networking in the medical sector bring numerous advantages, but also new security risks, especially for networked medical devices, which often cannot be protected with conventional security solutions.
In collaboration with Asecus, significant steps were taken to increase security, including securing the perimeter, optimizing zoning and gaining visibility into the MIoT environment. Thanks to Asecus’s technical expertise and flexible approach, the project was successfully implemented. Particularly noteworthy is the increase in ICT resilience through a carefully planned migration concept, which enabled the use of new firewalls without disrupting hospital operations.
Asecus, with over 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, has proven to be a trusted partner, serving a wide range of customers from various industries. This success story underlines not only the importance of advanced cybersecurity in critical infrastructures such as hospitals, but also the value of strong partnerships and innovative solutions in the fight against cyber threats.
